 Product Spotlight : Stacking Bagel Bin

On this edition of 'Spotted in the Wild', let's find out where these bagel bins have been found lately… Now, just because they're called bagel bins doesn't mean that's the only thing they can hold. So you can imagine that plenty of other stores are taking advantage of that fact. Last weekend's jaunt was to Whole Foods as they had my specialty product there as well - and for a cheaper price - and as you can imagine, these bread bins weren't located too far away from the grain dispensers mentioned last week. Just imagine them there, all lined up and filled with breads and rolls of all sorts. Some sweeter, some more savory, some with cheese baked onto the top of them, this one with rosemary running throughout. Mmm, yummy.

But as you're not here to listen to my epicurean musings, I'll give you a few more details about the similar bagel bins we have for sale here. The bin measures 12" wide by 10-1/8" high, with a depth of 15 ¾". It's made from clear acrylic, so you can easily see what's inside of it (always important as a way to avoid people touching the food at random too), with a hinged lid to help prevent your goods from going stale quickly.  Product Spotlight : Five Gallon Gravity Dispenser with Black Trim

I finally spotted one of these in the wild over the weekend. I had to go out to a health food store a ways away from my home (because of course, stupid other big box store had stopped carrying the one product I was really there looking for so I had to schlep halfway across the state to a different store that actually had it) and lo and behold - an entire aisle's worth of gravity dispensers filled with various grains, seeds, coffee, nuts, and ooh, little yummy date and fig bars. In any case, the trip was worth it for more reasons than one. It occurred to me as I was standing there in the middle of the aisle staring at bulk sesame seeds that the health food store really is almost the perfect example of how best to use a gravity dispenser.

The no spill spout and the handle that allows you to adjust the flow are a great way for customers to dispense the (relatively) precise amount of product they want into their bags. The five gallon volume of the model seen here is large enough to hold quite a bit of stuff and keep it fresh at the same time, which is great for stores with customers constantly coming in and out.
